Surgical tools and practices used at Pet Harbor Veterinary Hospital:

  • Preoperative blood profiles performed in our in-house lab before your pet is anesthetized.
  • Complete orthopedic equipment, including tools for orthopedic pinning, plating, and external fixation.
  • Wide range of soft tissue procedures including cancer surgery
  • Operating Microscope
  • Special head lamps and magnifiers for detailed surgeries. 
  • Gas anesthesia machines that are supplied with Isoflurane gas. Isoflurane is one of the safest gas anesthetics used in both human and veterinary medical fields.
  • A technician monitoring your pet throughout the entire anesthetic procedure.
  • Intravenous Fluids used perioperatively.
  • Suction and electrocautery are available for all surgeries.
  • Complete monitoring equipment, including EKG, blood pressure apparatus, intravenous fluid monitors, end-tidal CO2 monitors, and pulse oximeters.
  • Pre-anesthetic drugs, both to lessen anxiety and the amount of anesthesia needed.
  • Proper pain medications administered as needed to keep your pet as comfortable as possible after surgery.
  • Autoclaving performed on premises.
